That wont stop me from placing my bank details on my listing. If this does not work I will be passing it on to buyers.

Bit greedy if you ask me, if ebay isnt making enough money as it is they are now going to make money off the buyers as well. I like the smoke screen by ebay in saying that "most would benefit from the increased level of security"

Ive never had any payment issues and prefer direct deposit because it takes 2 days to transfer funds from a bank account into Paypal. Ebay are becoming more money hungry and a lot of sellers will jump the sinking ship with this as one of the final nails in the coffin.

As a buyer Paypal is not a bad thing. But for sellers your screwed as soon as a buyer raises any objections, say good bye to your money. Buyers are now safer but sellers will now be wide open to abuse and fraud with little protection.

I think this is a smart move on behalf of ebay to protect buyers. Buyer security has been a growing concern, where eBay have been receiving a considerable amount of bad press where shoppers are being ripped off by dodgy sellers. Hopefully it may act as a deterrent for fraudulent selling activities.
