Is that a CNET in Your Pocket?

Have you ever stood in front of a wall of plasma and LCD televisions and wished you had a CNET editor beside you, helping you decide which TV to buy? Wish no more!

Today CNET Networks Australia launches CNET in Your Pocket, bringing the best tech news and reviews from the PC to your WAP-enabled mobile handset.

In addition to the latest news and reviews CNET in Your Pocket gives you access to a list of products awarded a CNET Editor's Choice seal of approval, a list of the most popular articles on CNET.com.au, and the opportunity to check prices of products with online tech vendors via Shopping.com.

To make CNET in Your Pocket fast and simple to use on a mobile handset the CNET team has adjusted the standard CNET.com.au Web site to fit into a single column page view. Simplifying the standard site doesn't mean that we've watered down the content, in fact, all our reviews are now available, in full, on your phone.

To access CNET in Your Pocket simply direct your mobile phone's Web browser to m.cnet.com.au

As I said in one of my forum posts, I'm not sure why people are assuming mobile browsing will be just like internet use on a normal PC. Mobile browsing is ideal for when users are out and about and need fast access to focused information such as transport information, weather, news, directions and even Wikipedia. Consumer advice such as cNet reviews lend themselves to mobile browsing so I would like to commend cNet for making this step. Great work guys and gals.

Agree absolutely. I don't need full browsing of a web site on a small screen. A mobile version of the site like what cnet is doing is a great service for mobile phone users like me. Keep up the good work.

I like browsing on my mobile when im not in the city. Not eveyone lives in the city, so I think its awesome that i can access whatever i want on my phone... Personally I like to access the same stuff I can on my P.C. I think we'll catch up in this regard eventually. The site is awesomest. Thnx

You've finally introduced this much-needed feature! I used to read CNET USA's mobi-site & think "WTH? Most of this news is just making me green with envy about how we don't have all this stuff!" Why not let us stream the CNET TV on there also? Now that'd be sick!
