Since the attempted buyout by Microsoft, many have questioned if Yahoo is still relevant in today's tech scene. After all, with Google dominating the Internet search and social-networking websites gaining a huge following, Yahoo's track record so far has been less than stellar.

Yahoo Go! 3.0 was announced at CommunicAsia and forms the foundation of the Sunnyvale company's renewed focus on its mobile strategy. For those who have never tried the application, Yahoo Go! is essentially a single program which sits on almost any mobile phone and allows you to access your mail and messenger accounts along with other news services.

Now in its third iteration, Yahoo Go! users can look forward to a variety of widgets to play with, including an MTV widget which provides the latest in music videos, and an eBay widget for tracking auctions. Yahoo oneSearch is now voice-enabled for search strings, as long as you have a BlackBerry Pearl, Curve or 8800 series handset.

You can download your localised version of Yahoo Go! 3.0 here.
