Sometimes what you purchase is not all that you expect it to be. You take a punt on a cheaper priced knock-off that doesn't work, you get stuck with a faulty unit that slipped past quality control, or the product simply doesn't do what you thought it would.

To sort through the marketing hype, we recommend you read the reviews and user comments on cnet.com.au, of course. But sometimes, even with diligent research, you can simply make the wrong decision. So in this week's Whaddyareckon? we've asked people on the street about their biggest tech disappointments.

Would you like to warn the world about a tech disaster you've had? Tell us in the forums or in our Whaddyareckon? group on Facebook.
