Very good review, useful.

Pros: Using Avast after using a accredited VirusScan for many years I find less drain on my dial-up connection, when updating Avast. In the past I would not be able to do anything else except allow the former Virusscan to finish its download.

Cons: I update myself as it is quicker than waiting for Home Edition. If not for my using modem it might be quicker to receive updates.

Lavasoft Ad-Aware 2007 came in dead last in our CNET antispyware testing. Ad-Aware failed to detect half of the test spyware, and unlike nine out of the 10 other antispyware apps we reviewed in December 2007, left behind traces for all but one spyware.
