A follow-on review from my comments on 24/08 ... had this TV for a week now, and absolutely love it! Linked with a Sony STRDA3400ES, a PS3 Slim, KEF KHT3005 SE speakers, and a Harmony One remote. Verdict is "thank god for the universal remote" (although I'm still working through a few bugs), and "what an amazing package" (no complaints with any part of it). Watched blu-ray "Day the Earth Stood Still", and was blown away by the level of detail and picture clarity. No noticeable lag, clouding, or any other visual issues. Has given me what I wanted (and one should expect) from a high-end TV.

I was wondering if anyone has a "clouding" issue with their 52" model for this tv? I just bought it today and noticed that there are white blotches in dark scenes. Should i go back and exchange it for a new model? There is also 1 dead pixek which i have noticed.

...I should point out that the model we bought was the KDL40Z5500 and not the 46 inch version!

Recently bought this tv from JB. Got a great deal at $2300 - yep, thats right! They had a few they were trying to off load and we just got lucky on the day I guess b/c we had originally intended to buy the 100Hz model.
Have never had an LCD before but my folks have an older (2 years) Samsung 40inch, and when watching football on One HD the Samsung does not even compare.
The 200Hz give clear footage with no lag, and we have yet to see and pixelling.
RE the sound, it seems pretty good, but I have yet to really test it.
Otherwise, the general functionality of the tv and remote are great.
    Extremely happy customer

Just purchased the KDL52Z5500 in the last week (mid-Aug09). Haven't received it yet, so no performance opinions to offer, but wanted to highlight I got it for $3,950 from the Sony Store in Perth. Stay tuned (pardon the pun) for more gratuitous views (and a rating).

FLASH never run it 200mhz on High, its horrible, too many artifacts.
take it 1 step down, and off for blue ray at 24P.

By the way, I had ready some reviews which stated that the speakers on the Z5500 were substandard to previous Sonys - I must say that to me the speakers and sound quality are perfectly fine
