Sony Ericsson's W580i is a sexy, thin slider that you'll want to carry in your pocket for its MP3 music player, radio or just to use the built-in pedometer.

    • Good: Good looks. Nice screen.
    • Bad: VERY breakable. Lags a bit. Turns off randomly. Temporarily stops recognising the memory card.

    This is quite a good looking phone and the screen is quite nice. Good colour.

    BUT that's it... seriously.

    I've had the phone for almost a year and I've had to put it in repairs 4 times. The keys crack SO easily. The left key stopped working completely!

    It lags a bit. Like if your texting it might take a few seconds to catch up.

    I've had my phone turn off several times. One time it was during a call another time it was in my pocket and I went to check the time and it was off!

    And to top it off. Every once in a while it would stop recognising that there was a memory card. I'd have to take it out, clean it and put it back in and wait a couple of mins for it to go back to normal.

    So it's pretty but there are way better phones out there.

    I have had this phone for nearly a year. The LCD screen has cracked twice. Both of them due to very little pressure and although both cracks were my fault, it took very little effort. The buttons have been broken a multitude of times and took many repairs.

    I am a certified computer professional and hobbiest electronic repairer. I've connected both the second screen and set of keys. I will tell you that this phone is built poorly from seeing the design.

    Whoever says this is a great phone, it may work for you as you may not do regular use or take extreme care of it. However the phone for most users, it is a fragile phone and can break at the slightest mistake.

    • Good: - The walkman's really good for the music lover
      - I'm love the fitness trainer, I'm an athelete so it's really useful
      - The illumination that comes with the phone is really good for trying to find it in the dark.
      - The motion sensor shuffle on the music player's nice :)
    • Bad: - I have trouble believing that this phone is "solidly" built. If I drop it, the flimsy battery cover pops off and is so prone to chipping.
      - The camera doesn't freaking zoom. SO annoying
      - Alarm that's set to vibrate is very brief, pretty useless.
      - A better keypad could've been designed
      - Security on the phone could be SO much better.

    I got this phone as a present and i can say that it is a decent phone at the start but its not one that will endure everyday rough and tumble for very long.

      Screen Cracks
      Slow internet connection
      Always freezes
      Always turns off randomly
      Buttons stop working

    I got this phone about a year ago, and within a month it had to be sent back for repairs because the buttons kept cracking. Just recently the screen cracked in half, both left hand keys stopped working, it kept freezing and turning off, when I went to turn it off by pressing the power button it automatically locked the phone so I had to take the battery out to turn it off. As well, it always looses services, and has a very slow internet connection.
    All in all, although it may be a cute phone it is not manufactured very well.

    • Bad: - buttons stop working after awhile
      - phone likes to shut itself off for no reason, and two weeks after being repaired it starts shutting off again
      - texting can take awhile compared to other phones
      - limited room for music

    Worst phone I've owned yet. I have had to have it repaired on a monthly baised, now that the warranty is up i'm getting a new phone!! The two buttons on the left hand side stopped working, and my phone would constantly shut off for no reason when the battery was fully charged. It was very frustrating dealing with this phone. I have two friends with this same phone and they have had similiar problems. Save your sanity and don't buy this phone.

    • Good: you can store 900 songs on it
    • Bad: it can be a bit slow working

    i love it its always been a good phone and my keys never come off cos i look after it

    hi i bought W 580i mobile 3 months back.i face some probleams with this mobile . mobile is automatically swichoff again switch on daily i am facing problem.

      no flash
      buttons break too easily
      sometimes laggs

    Mad Phone good for music lovers coz the walkman player is cool. But the keys brake really easily and the 2mp camera is ****

    Really really good phone the features are incredible the walkman music player is really great a great phone for music lovers. The camrea quailty is good and the look of the phone is very nice. The only problem i have had with this phone so far is the that theright side of it is lose and when i press the arrow buttons it bounces a bit

    • Good: nice music and clear picture
    • Bad: screen display unit malfunction(half blank screen)
      key pads easily damages
      back panel get hot when in use.

    in less than 4 month of using this phone, half of its screen went blank so i coudnt read my text message nor my complete phone number .apperently i have 5 other friends who experience same problem with me. even the repairer confirm it.(most popular phone in repair shop)
