The Sony KDL-46X2000 is a stylish 46-inch LCD television with excellent image quality that can handle and display full 1080p high-definition signals.

    colour reproduction

    If you have never owned an LCD you have probably just seen examples running on factory default settings in people's homes or at the Good Guys.

    However when you get your set home and play around in the menus you can obtain really nice colours - warm, cool, more red, less blue or whatever.

    Friends who own plasmas are usually a little peeved when they see my LG LCD!!

    • Good: Excellent specs.
    • Bad: However, price is going to be a big issue. I am not sure if many ppl will be willing to dish out a bundle, specially when the content side and evident benefits are not very clear.

    • Good: Recently went to a conferance with the buyers for my company and was able to have a glimps of this new screen. 40" version will be $5499 at the moment. truely amazing. We got a chance to watch the first half of Phantom of the Opera played via a HD-DVD player intergrated in the latest Toshiba Qosimo laptop. The colours were clear as, no showing of any motion blur like i've seen in many LCD's. The 1080p resolution is really amazing. Can't wait till it's release.
    • Bad: None really. Intergrated TWIN HD tuners, Twin HDMI inputs. The price is a harsh one for the size, and considering a single year of warrenty with such an expensive LCD is a downfall of Sony.

    Truely Awesome!

    Something, no matter will continue to push me towards Plasma. I realise that the resolution is not as high as any LCD will be, but i do enjoy it's colour reproduction better. Pioneer Plasma's will always be my favorites due to their supurb offering as a complete experience and a true home theatre solution.

    • Good: hull HD display madde for PS3/360 and HD dvd/bluray
    • Bad: price checked out the europe sony site, specifically the UK site the 46ich was 4000 pounds. thats 10,000 grand aussie without the typical price rise in this country for reasons unknown.

    pricing huh...

    id get the 42ich philips love the look and seen it in action great.
    full HD got to wait a couple of years for decent prices

    • Good: Seems very good, I have deferred to buy a new TV after reading about this one.

    but there is no info on Sony AU website.

    • Bad: Can CCFL give motion the flick, or does Philips 42PF9831 with Clear LCD (HCFL) win the motion race? My money is on the Philips...

    • Good: Fantastic colour reproduction, high brightness panel with fast response times
    • Bad: Can't think of anything

    Best LCD TV I've seen!!!
