Sony's relentless onslaught of new products announced overnight at IFA included a number of new Vaio hybrid PCs.

The Vaio Fit Multi-flip PC comes in either 13 or 15 inches. Its selling point is an ingenious little hinge that allows the screen to flip between tablet, laptop and "viewer" mode. In the viewer configuration, the screen faces away from the keyboard and track pad.

There's not a lot more info on the Fit, with pricing, availability and detailed specs all yet to be confirmed. As a side note, it looks like this model may be called the Flip in the US and some other territories.

The Tap 11 is, as the name suggests, an 11-inch, super-thin Windows tablet that combines with a flat, magnetic keyboard to become a laptop. The IPS panel has a resolution of 1920x1080 and features Sony's Triluminos technology from its Bravia TVs.

The tablet half has an integrated kickstand, and the whole thing is powered by Intel's range of Core-i processors. According to our US colleagues who have had hands-on time with the device in Berlin, "it's the thinnest Windows 8 tablet you can get with a full Intel Core i-series CPU".

The Tap 21 is a very different beast. It's a 21-inch Windows tablet that converts into a full desktop PC rather than a laptop. It's got battery power for when it's in tablet mode, and the rear kickstand can be used to set the screen into a variety of positions.

As with the Fit, neither the Tap 11 nor the Tap 21 has any pricing in Australia, but the Tap 21 is expected to be available in November this year.
