Sony NWZ-A816 Walkman

By Derek Fung on 28 November 2007

It's identical to the NW-A800 series we reviewed earlier this year but the NWZ-810 series gets some healthy price cuts. The big news though is Sony's deletion of its SonicStage software -- it's now a drag-and-drop device for music, video and photos.

    • Good: Small, ease of use, GREAT sound and no SonicStage. It's not an iPod!!
    • Bad: Lack of accessories, and this is last years product line (2007). This will be replaced by the S series. Save some $ and get this one or (8GB). you won't be sorry.

Sweet sound and easy to use. I have owned 3 Sony players before. All ave broken. But, this one is tough and SonicStage is long gone.

For the Volume limit thing celle1977 if you go into the Home Page on the Player --> Settings --> Common Settings --> AVLS (Volume Limit) --> Then switch this off...if this isn't loud enough I suggest a visit to the ear clinic!!

I cant see any fault with this little gadget. I've had it over a week and I am very impressed with it!! I have always had iPods and they have always broken. The build quality and ease of use of this Sony is incredible. I would advise anybody to get one if they are looking for an MP3 player...the video quality is perfect. I'd give this 6* if I could. Excellent
