The Star Wars universe now has its very own official Instagram account. We're looking forward to snaps of Ewok food.

What could the Star Wars universe need more of? If you answered "Sith selfies", give yourself a pat on the back: Disney has launched an official Instagram account for the franchise, where — a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away — apparently, smartphones definitely existed.

Darth Vader needs a few lessons in "front-facing camera", though.

There's not a lot actually on the Instagram account yet, but what there is — the above selfie (the first picture, appropriately, posted to the account), a pic of Luke and Vader fighting and a shot of the Star Destroyer model made by Colin Cantwell — leads us to believe that we'll be seeing a few never-before-seen behind-the-scenes pics.

We're hoping for a few more selfies, though, and maybe some stage photos of Salacious Crumb, a few Bantha pet photos and some choice foodie snaps of Hydrogenated Smapp and Tauntaun stew.

Head over to the Star Wars Instagram page to follow.

"Ewok food"... as in dishes Ewoks eat, or dishes containing Ewok? :P
