Synchronise your note taking with Simplenote

About The Author

CNET Editor

Seamus Byrne is the Editor of CNET Australia. At other times he'll be found messing with apps, watching TV, building LEGO, and rolling dice. Usually at the same time.

Today it's a simple service that's all about syncing basic written notes called ... Simplenote!

Simplenote is all about pure text, but it does the job perfectly. Use it to focus on to-do lists or as a space for cutting and pasting all sorts of useful information.

Simplenote's official focus is as an iPhone and iPad app, but the service has lots of software available to let you keep using your notes across Windows, Mac, in a web browser or on Android smartphones.

Some people will miss the bells and whistles of other note-taking apps, but Simplenote's cut-down style makes it very fast and very easy to tap out a few key notes when all you need to worry about is capturing and searching the words.
