Windows desktop bling

Just because your Windows computer comes with boring backgrounds and icons doesn't mean that you're stuck with them. We show you where to find themes, widgets and other desktop tools to jazz up your screen.

Sony PSP-3000

With its impressive game library, lower price and expanded feature set, it's certainly a much better deal than the original PSP — and it's even better than the PSP 2000. While its media and online functions won't necessarily replace a dedicated AV device or laptop, it will be good for most portable gaming and multimedia needs.

Reviews

  • Jeep Cherokee Sport diesel (2008)

Built for serious off-roading, not just dashing up the gravel track to your favourite vineyard, the Cherokee demands too many compromises to be a city-bound family hauler.

  • Toyota Tarago GLi (2006)

A people mover that transports all manner of cargo with ease. Pity that it's so pricey and that many of the valuable safety features are optional extras.

  • Sony STRDA5300ES

With six HDMI inputs, an intuitive graphical user interface and excellent audio and video quality, the Sony STR-DA5300ES raises the bar on what to expect from a high-end AV receiver.

  • Yamaha Digital Sound Projector YSP4000BSWi

The Yamaha YSP4000BSWi has a great range of features and is still one of the best 5.1 simulators, but it may not represent the best value for money.

  • Samsung HT-TXQ120T

The Samsung HT-TXQ120 is a rock solid audio system that rivals component-level kits in sound quality. This, however, is not the case for the video department with its just above-average visuals.

  • Road Angel Navigator 3000

The Road Angel Navigator 3000 enters the entry-level GPS fray and provides formidable competition. We wish it came with an AC charger and better instructions, though.

  • Panasonic DMP-BD10

Forward-looking cinephiles with deep pockets might go for DMP-BD10 Blu-ray player. For the rest of us, we recommend waiting a while or picking up a PS3.

  • Optoma MovieTime DV10

A portable all-in-one DVD player and projector with excellent image quality.
