Sony Ericsson Jalou

For lovers of jewels or jewel-shaped electronics, the Sony Ericsson Jalou is going to gallop into your heart like a Rhinestone Cowboy.

Apple iPhone 3GS (32GB)

The iPhone 3GS is faster and we appreciate the new features and extended battery life, but call quality and 3G reception still need improvement.

Reviews

  • Sony Ericsson W508

The W508 is a great phone for listening to music and playing games, but it's yet another Walkman phone from Sony Ericsson that doesn’t really standout from the pack.

  • Sony Ericsson W980i

Most of our complaints about the W980 are purely cosmetic. Looks aside, this latest Walkman works well as both a phone and a dedicated music player, with a substantial 8GB of storage being the icing on the cake.

  • Sony Ericsson C702

There's a lot to like about the C702, sadly the Cyber-shot camera is not part of this list. People hunting for a rugged mobile phone will rejoice at this compact and attractive option.

  • Sony Ericsson W890i

The sleeker user interface, improved keypad and HSDPA make the W890i more attractive than its predecessor, the W880i.

  • Nokia 5300 XpressMusic

The Nokia 5300 XpressMusic phone works well as a music player — a larger memory card would be useful — but achieves relatively average results as a phone.

  • Sagem my501c

The Sagem my501c is a lightweight, entry-level designer phone coupled with a handful of useful features. Those after advanced entertainment features will invariably look elsewhere, but for those on a tight budget looking for a light phone to carry around, this model represents a good option.

  • Nokia N73

Nokia's N73 is one of the best camera phones we've seen this year, with a wide range of multimedia and business features tucked under its belt. Responsiveness, however, is not a strong point.

  • Sony Ericsson K800i

Sony Ericsson has thrown down the gauntlet with the 3.2-megapixel Cyber-shot K800i. We've crowned this the best camera phone so far in 2006, but the bevy of extra features and ease of use make the K800i a good choice for first-time 3G users.

Though Sony Ericsson is promising that it won't be introducing any new phones at the CTIA show next week, the company did unveil a new model on Thursday in Miami. The Sony Ericsson T707 offers a sleek flip design with multimedia features, and it has the official endorsement of tennis player Maria Sharapova.

  • Sony Ericsson's new C510 Cyber-shot

The C510 may be positioned as the low-end member of the Cyber-shot line, but still offers an impressive array of features.
