Samsung HD Icon

If you have a desktop hard drive full of media files that you wish you could take with you on the train to work, there is no better phone than the HD Icon.

Samsung Preston Icon

The Preston has the look of a better handset, but poor call quality spoils an otherwise well-performing budget-priced touchscreen phone.

Reviews

  • Samsung Ultra S (S7350)

The Ultra S is the best Samsung phone in this price range. Anyone looking for decent phone features and an excellent camera should check out the Ultra S, especially lovers of pink.

  • LG Viewty Smart

It's called the Viewty Smart, but it's definitely not a smartphone. Aside from the decent camera, there's very little to recommend this high-priced mobile.

  • Sony Ericsson W995

The W995 under-performs where it counts. The screen is small and of a low-resolution, the web browser doesn't inspire web browsing, and worst of all, the W995 is just too expensive.

  • Samsung UltraTouch (S8300)

Its camera is great and the screen looks amazing, but the UltraTouch is not a knockout. It's a weird mix of business looks, average apps and dodgy performance, and we just can't tell who exactly Samsung is trying to sell it to.

  • Nokia 5730 XpressMusic

Nokia's 5730 XpressMusic is like the mullet of mobile phones; business up front, party out the back. This mix of business and consumer features will be welcomed by some, but could leave the 5730 in a techno-limbo.

  • Samsung INNOV8 (i8510)

The INNOV8 is loaded with features and sports massive storage. If you're in the market for a mobile phone that can do just about anything the INNOV8 should be on your shortlist.

  • Sony Ericsson C905

The Sony Ericsson C905 is a very good phone with a decent camera, but don't expect this to be the model that has you selling your stand-alone camera on eBay.

  • LG Viewty Smart details leaked

A couple of months ago, LG's UK blog did the honours of revealing the Arena prior to the official announcement. Now it's done it again, in what could either be a smart marketing move or honest oversight; we're inclined to think the former.

  • Hold the phone: Nokia's Tube is the Nokia 5800

We last discussed Nokia's "Tube" back in June, after details first surfaced a few months earlier. Now, we know a heap of extra details.

  • Samsung unveils 8-megapixel camera phone

Samsung announce the Innov8: an 8-megapixel feature-packed camera phone for release in the fourth quarter.
