Bose SoundDock 10

While it's expensive and isn't loaded with features, the Bose SoundDock 10 is classy looking and sounds excellent for a compact iPod/iPhone speaker.

Altec Lansing inMotion Max

For its price, the inMotion Max is a very decent iPhone-compatible speaker dock. It makes up for the lack of features with decent audio quality and portability.

Reviews

  • Harman Kardon Go + Play

The Harman Kardon Go + Play is one of the best-sounding portable iPod speaker systems you can buy, but its high price and lack of compatibility with recent iPod models make it a limited recommendation.

  • Monitor Audio i-Deck

Recent price drops have meant the Monitor Audio i-Deck is one of the best-sounding and most attractive iPod speaker systems for the money

  • Altec Lansing M602

The Altec Lansing M602 may not deliver high-end sound, but as far as iPod speaker systems go, it's a pretty solid choice for the money.

  • JBL On Time

With an iPod speaker, charger and AM/FM clock radio, the On Time looks and sounds good, but we don't know whether to put it in the bedroom or the lounge room.

  • Apple iPod Hi-Fi

Apple releases its own speaker accessory for the popular iPod

  • JBL On Stage II iPod speakers

The JBL On Stage II's new wireless remote makes these attractive iPod speakers even easier to use, but we're still disappointed by its bulky AC adapter and its lightweight bass response.

  • Oregon Scientific iBall

While not perfect and a bit pricey, the Oregon Scientific iBall is a nice way to make your iPod tunes available at a party.

  • Altec Lansing InMotion iM7

If you miss the heady 80's days of irresponsible tycoons, big hair and boomboxes, then the iM7 promises a return of sorts. Well, except for the tycoons and the big hair -- you'll have to provide those yourself.
