Sony VAIO VGN-AR49G
The Sony VAIO VGN-AR49G is without a doubt a premium multimedia machine with strong graphics performance and a Blu-ray drive. The high price may drive those with smaller wallets to Toshiba's HD-DVD machines which offer similar functionality (sans Blu-ray) though.
Samsung BD-P1000
Samsung's BD-P1000 is the first Blu-ray player to land in Australia. While it raises the bar for high-definition video with 1080p output, it also carries a lofty price tag.
