Dell Adamo XPS

Dell's Adamo brand of notebooks emphasise design as well as mobility, and its latest offering seems to have an abundance of both. But will breaking tradition help the Adamo XPS trump the MacBook Air?

Most beautiful monitors

Monitors have a tendency to be fairly plain objects, but every now and then a vendor goes out of its way to bring design to the fore.

  • Dell Vostro 320

While a few tweaks such as an in-built wireless receiver for keyboard/mouse and a video input so it could double as a monitor for your laptop would be nice, if you're looking for a cheap all-in-one PC, it's hard to ignore the Vostro 320 as an option.

  • Dell Vostro 1220

At first glance, the Vostro 1220 looks like an ultraportable notebook that was born from Dell's consumer range. But instead Dell has created its own little niche, targeting the more fashion-conscious business user on a budget.

  • Dell ST2310

The ST2310 has a low price and is good for everyday tasks, but it lacks some of the extra features included with similarly priced displays.

  • Dell Mini 10v

Dell's Mini 10v keeps a lot of the features of the more expensive Mini 10, while dropping the price to AU$549. It's one of only a handful of AU$600 netbooks that doesn't look and feel especially cheap.

  • Dell Studio One 19

There's a decent but not great PC hiding behind the Studio One 19's touchscreen gimmickry.

  • Dell Latitude E6400

Dell's Latitude E6400 is a full featured business laptop that delivers on performance, battery life and price in one neat bundle.

  • Dell UltraSharp U2410

The only way to get better quality than the Dell UltraSharp U2410 is to spend a lot more money — if you need a 24-inch, are on a budget but still need great quality images, we can wholeheartedly recommend this screen.

  • Dell Inspiron 15

The Dell Inspiron 15 is likely the best bang for buck you'll get for AU$1000, from its battery life to its upgrade options. We do miss the numpad, but the rest is perfect for the budget-conscious user.
