HP Pavilion MS214a

It won't thrill any Apple fans into not buying an iMac, but HP's latest all-in-one is quietly powerful at an acceptable price point.

Dell Inspiron Zino HD

While our review sample doesn't quite have the power to be a usable HTPC, if you're willing to spend a little more Dell offers the upgrades to get there.

Reviews

  • Sony Vaio VPCL118FG/B

Sony's all-in-one PC isn't cheap and it could do with more storage, but otherwise it's a highly attractive option for those who crave simplicity.

  • Dell IN1910N

The Dell IN1910N is an economy monitor that sacrifices too much in terms of performance and features to achieve its low price tag. We recommend saving up for a better model.

  • Apple Mac Mini (Late 2009)

If you demand a small, relatively affordable Mac, the Mac Mini is your only option. Otherwise, you can find Windows-based small form factor desktops that offer more interesting features with better value.

  • Tigers Electronics Giada N10

The Giada N10 is a quick nettop with a nice keyboard, but it's still not good enough for our money.

  • Dell Studio One 19

There's a decent but not great PC hiding behind the Studio One 19's touchscreen gimmickry.

  • BenQ nScreen i91

BenQ's nettop looks affordable on the surface, but you're still paying a premium for a low-powered desktop machine.

  • Asus Eee Box B206

For undemanding users who aren't into HD video, Asus' Eee Box B206 is worth a look; however, it's not powerful enough to take on other media-centre PCs.

  • Apple iMac (20-inch, 2.66GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 2009)

A few other all-in-ones make this 20-inch iMac look expensive on a dollars-per-screen-inch basis, but none are as attractive or as capable juggling multiple programs. With a fast dual-core CPU and a strong array of features, Apple's updated all-in-one will slide seamlessly into a variety of roles at home or at work.
