  • HTC S730

Even though the S730 is one of the few HTC products without a touchscreen, it is probably the first candy-bar style smartphone we've seen that has a slide-out full QWERTY keypad. Plus the S730 has excellent connectivity options.

  • Dopod C730

Dopod's C730 has some great and highly enticing technology hiding under its slim hood. A pity then, that it's such a poor smartphone to actually use.

  • HTC Touch

While not a iPhone killer, the HTC Touch represents good value for money. If you can do without 3G support or a high-res camera, then the Touch will offer most features you'd require from a smartphone.

  • Dopod D810

The Dopod D810 is packed with a bevy of useful features including 3.5G HSDPA support, quad-band GSM, and Wi-Fi, but suffers from some glaring shortcomings.

  • Dopod P800W

Dopod's P800W offers a lot of promise for a GPS-enabled Windows Smartphone, but the lack of supplied GPS software and some sluggish performance really drag it down.

  • GPS: not just for the car anymore

Declining prices and improved miniaturisation mean GPS is making its way out of the car and into other gadgets. You may never get lost again.

  • The iPhone: What's new, what's not

While we can't tell you just yet whether the iPhone will live up to the hype just yet, we can tell you what features the iPhone will offer and whether those features are the first of their kind.

  • PDA Buyer's Guide: What to look for when buying a handheld

The right PDA has to be small enough that you enjoy toting it around, but the battery needs to be big enough that it has some juice left when you need it; plus, it must have a decent-size screen.
