Apple iPod Nano (5th generation)

Not sure which new iPod to choose? The Nano's fifth incarnation wins hands down, with FM tuner and video camera being more than just cheap gimmicks.

iRiver T6

The iRiver T6 is a slender, sleek and well-made MP3 player, though it does lack an extensive feature set. For the casual listener or as a backup player, it's perfectly capable, but audiophiles may want to look elsewhere.

Reviews

  • Yamaha YSP-3000

If you can look past its limited video capabilities, the Yamaha YSP-3000 is an otherwise recommendable single-speaker solution for home theater buyers who don't want a traditional 5.1 channel surround system.

  • Audio Pro Porto

The Audio Pro Porto is a leather-clad, portable iPod dock which offers the flexibility of battery operation and an additional FM tuner.

  • Sony Walkman NW-A805

Were it not for crazy pricing, the A806 would've walked it in for an Editors' Choice award. As it is, it's still a great nano competitor with sound Apple would kill for and video playback to boot.

  • LG LH-RH9695IA Home Theatre

This is a great sounding and great looking unit that will work well in medium-sized rooms, and considering its hard disk drive, it is reasonable value for money.

  • Sony NW-A806 Walkman

Were it not for crazy pricing, the A806 would've walked it in for an Editors' Choice award. As it is, it's still a great nano competitor with sound Apple would kill for and video playback to boot.

  • Sony NW-A808 Walkman

Were it not for crazy pricing, the A808 would've walked it in for an Editors' Choice award. As it is, it's still a great nano competitor with sound Apple would kill for and video playback to boot.

  • Archos 604 (30GB)

The do-it-all Archos 604 with its improved design is slightly marred by mediocre audio performance. It's an amazing PVP, but not a great audio player.

  • Samsung YP-T9

Despite a few minor issues, the stylish Samsung YP-T9 is a no-brainer: it's easy to use, packed with features, and sounds fantastic. What more could you ask for?
