Ford Falcon father dies

Robert Strange McNamara passed away yesterday, and will be remembered and reviled for many things, primarily the Vietnam War. For car enthusiasts, as well as taxi riders all over Australia, he's the forgotten man who ushered into the world the Falcon and its sexier two-door cousin the Mustang.

  • LG Shine (TU720)

LG makes some of our favourite prepaid handsets, and the TU720 is no exception. This new Shine matches good looks with great basic functionality and an excellent online experience.

  • Telstra T6

The T6 is the phone we never expected to see from Telstra. The price tag on the T6 is spot on for a phone with this feature set, and the Telstra Blue Tick should offer those in remote areas some peace of mind.

  • Samsung C5220

The C5220 is a passable prepaid from Telstra. Its low-specs are elevated somewhat by Next G compatibility, though there's little else to recommend it.

  • Ford Fiesta Econetic

Fit a Fiesta with a highly efficient diesel engine, special tyres and a green shift light, and you've got a car capable of besting the Toyota Prius in the fuel economy stakes.

  • Telstra Turbo 21 modem

Telstra's Turbo 21 delivered the fastest wireless broadband experience we've seen. This excellent performance will be enough to justify its high price for some.

  • Ford Fiesta Zetec 5-door automatic (2009, WS)

Despite being the sportiest Fiesta, the Zetec automatic is still lumbered with the less powerful 1.4-litre engine. Maybe the Bluetooth hands-free, six-speaker stereo with USB and full complement of safety kit will make you feel better.

  • Ford Fiesta Zetec 5-door manual (2009, WS)

Five-doors plus Bluetooth hands-free, USB, six-speaker stereo, body kit and a full complement of safety kit equals the Fiesta Zetec. Oddly the sportiest Fiesta (so far) has no extra power.

  • Ford Fiesta Zetec 3-door manual (2009, WS)

The sportiest of the new Fiestas doesn't have any extra power, but does include standard Bluetooth hands-free, USB slot, body kit and alarm.

  • 3 turns on Telstra 3G roaming

3 Mobile customers will enjoy expanded access to 3G network services, provided they own a compatible handset.

  • Telstra knows what a girl wants

Girls are sexy made out of Pepsi, apparently, and for those who want to be sexier still Telstra has loaded up its mobile portal with fashion tips and celebrity gossip.

  • Work from home, in your ute

The first few in-car PCs are surfacing in Australia but the US is way ahead, with Ford offering it as an option in its F-150 ute range. Now LogMeIn's remote access software is being thrown into the bundle.
