At a price of AU$649, the 2309m is a decent buy. While it performs well, the blacks aren't as deep as we'd like, and we'd be more tempted to find something with a matte screen to cut down on reflections.

Logitech G35 Surround Sound Headset

If you're looking for a good headset to complement your gaming, the Logitech G35s are excellent — but keep them in stereo mode, and leave the surround sound for speakers.

    HP's w2228h is certainly a pretty looking monitor, and includes stand adjustments not often seen elsewhere, but capability wise it's no better than other 22-inch monitors that are AU$200-$300 cheaper.

    The 2209WA is a monitor with very few flaws. While we'd love to see 1:1 scaling, and the inset screen may cause some users grief, we wouldn't mind two of these sitting on our desk. This is the best 22-inch monitor we've seen.

  • Apple MacBook Air (Core 2 Duo 1.86GHz, Nvidia GeForce 9400M)

    If you weren't a fan of the previous MacBook Air, nothing will change your mind here. It does, however, present an excellent user experience. We can only hope the next revision is a little more feature-laden.

    Asus' M51Va passes muster as one of the better laptops out there, and the Centrino 2 certification means you'll be up-to-date with the latest spec. If you're in the market for a mid-weight laptop, make sure to give this one a try.

    ViewSonic's LED back-lit monitor leaves a lot to be desired in the performance stakes, especially considering its price.

    If you swing with the funky, then HP's Artist Edition laptop could be for you.
