JVC Everio GZ-HD5
The HD5 features a 60GB hard disk, high-def 1920x1080 recording and a 10x optical zoom lens. Unfortunately, it records in JVC's MPEG2-TS format, rather than the more popular AVCHD format.

Sony Handycam HDR-XR100
While it's a perfectly serviceable HD camcorder, the Sony Handycam HDR-XR100 should deliver a little more of everything for the money.
-
JVC Everio GZ-HD6
In isolation the HD6 is a good camera, however, on almost every turn it is outpointed by its Sony counterpart, the HDR-SR12.

Panasonic HDC-HS9

-
JVC Everio GZ-MG275
The GZ-MG275 is a hard-disk based camcorder ideal for entry-level videographers, although its asking price might give some HD enthusiasts pause for thought.
-
JVC Everio GZ-HD7
If this camcorder cost AU$1,000, we'd give it a much higher rating. For its price, though, we expect far better performance and video quality.
-
Panasonic SDR-H250
The H250 has a lot to offer today — notably a great lens, flexible storage and usable manual features — but it'll soon look as quaint and outmoded as VHS.
-
JVC Everio GZ-MG57
Though small and well designed, the JVC Everio GZ-MG57's performance and video quality can't match the competition's.
