  • Dell Mini 10v

    Dell's Mini 10v keeps a lot of the features of the more expensive Mini 10, while dropping the price to AU$549. It's one of only a handful of AU$600 netbooks that doesn't look and feel especially cheap.

    Swelling the ranks of 11.6-inch netbooks, the Asus Eee PC 1101HA impresses with its design and battery, but having to overclock a slower version of Intel's Atom CPU is a dodgy workaround.

  • Dell Inspiron Mini 1210

    The Mini 1210's upgraded processor and shift to Windows XP does remove some of the original model's biggest issues, but it's still not a netbook that we'd buy.

  • Dell Inspiron Mini 10

    The Dell Inspiron Mini 10 looks to be an improvement on the Mini 9, although the initial low resolution screen, lack of WWAN and three-cell battery option could hamper initial sales. We'd recommend waiting for the updated model coming later this year.

  • Acer Aspire One AOD150

    The new 10-inch Aspire One AOD150 will further cement Acer's lead in the netbook market, largely on account of its price.

  • Asus N10 (Intel Atom N270 Processor 1.6GHz, 1GB RAM)

    You'll pay a bit more for the privilege, but the Asus N10 is unique because of its discrete, switchable graphics and extra ports.

  • Asus Eee PC S101

    Asus packs the same basic components found in other Netbooks into a stylish, slim chassis for a modest premium in price, with some unfortunate keyboard-layout compromises.
