Reviews

  • Navman MY500XT

Improved, but still deeply flawed. We'd suggest checking out the lesser fruit from the Navman tree first.

  • Garmin Nuvi 265WT

With its relatively elegant traffic antenna and simple-to-use interface, the Garmin Nuvi 265WT makes a good case for itself.

  • TomTom XL Traffic (2nd generation)

Compact, correctable, good looking and easy to use, the TomTom XL is a great portable GPS. For AU$100 more there's this Traffic version with, uhh, traffic messaging built-in.

  • Navigon 2150max

This is a great GPS if you have a piano black fetish. For the rest of us, it's just OK. Its good points (Aussie-capable text-to-speech, junction view, extended lane info) are balanced out by an inconsistent interface and unfriendly windshield mount.

  • Mio DigiWalker C320

Mio's C320 GPS provides a good balance between affordability and features.

  • Mio DigiWalker C220

A highly customisable entry-level GPS which focuses on its core task of navigation but requires a bit of acclimatisation to get the best out of.

  • Mio Digiwalker P350

Mio's Digiwalker P350 isn't a stunning PDA. It isn't a stunning GPS, either. It's still a good unit, however --- read our review to find out why.

  • Mio A701

Mio's A701 is a jack-of-all-trades handheld combining PDA and phone functionality, GPS navigation, a 1.3-megapixel camera, an MP3 player and a movie player.
