Fujitsu P770 LifeBook
Fujitsu's tiny Core i7 system is all business. Don't expect flashy graphics performance or shiny case designs, but as a spreadsheet-crunching machine with good portability it's highly suitable.
MSI Wind U160
The chunky battery MSI slaps onto the U160 does give it a big backside, but also supplies enough energy to keep it going longer than comparable netbooks.

Asus Eee PC 1005PE
As the first next-gen Intel Atom netbook, Asus' Eee PC 1005PE offers amazing battery life, but otherwise feels like a last-gen system.

Asus Eee PC Seashell 1201N
As one of the few netbooks with a dual-core Atom processor and Nvidia Ion graphics, the 12.1-inch Eee PC 1201N has superior performance compared with most Atom-based machines, but any higher-level ULV thin-and-light will still do better.

Gigabyte Booktop M1022M
The Booktop may be on the costly side, thanks to the bundled docking station, but it still falls below "premium" netbook costs. Plus the excellent battery life and ability to switch from a desk-bound PC to a portable mini-laptop captured our attention.

Dell Mini 10v
Dell's Mini 10v keeps a lot of the features of the more expensive Mini 10, while dropping the price to AU$549. It's one of only a handful of AU$600 netbooks that doesn't look and feel especially cheap.

Samsung NC10
The NC10 betters previous Samsung netbooks with a built-in HSDPA SIM card reader and the portability this provides. Optus wireless broadband bundles seem like excellent value.
