  The JAMA 201 smartphone looks the part of a smartphone, but it's not good enough to be the real deal.

  Even with GPS and its expected lower price-tag the P3470 will struggle without Wi-Fi or 3G data speeds.

  Decent performance, GPS and good connectivity are a plus for a handset with yesterday's heavy-set PDA aesthetics.

  There aren't many choices for dedicated, low-cost PDAs, so it's good to know that the 112 Classic pretty much gets all the basics right at an affordable price.

  It may not be a quantum leap compared with the 838 Pro, but the TyTN II maintains what power users loved in the previous iteration — with a few extras.

  i-mate Ultimate 6150

  The Ultimate 6150 goes like grease lightning but be warned: you'll need deep pockets to own one, and not just to pay the price tag.

  Dopod C730

  Dopod's C730 has some great and highly enticing technology hiding under its slim hood. A pity then, that it's such a poor smartphone to actually use.

  Dopod D810

  The Dopod D810 is packed with a bevy of useful features including 3.5G HSDPA support, quad-band GSM, and Wi-Fi, but suffers from some glaring shortcomings.

  Samsung BlackJack

  Samsung's BlackJack is a utilitarian PDA-phone which has some consumer-friendly features that aim to balance its workhorse disposition.

  O2 Graphite

  O2's latest phone combines many of the features of a PDA with the latest in mobile phone technology including 3G support, push e-mail and video conferencing all in a conventional looking handset.

  O2 Xda Zinc

  With a faster processor, the Xda Zinc has a slight performance edge over the Dopod 838 Pro but falls short by a slight margin in terms of aesthetics. Unless you're looking for a QWERTY handheld, there are more options out there.

  Mio's Digiwalker P350 isn't a stunning PDA. It isn't a stunning GPS, either. It's still a good unit, however --- read our review to find out why.
