  TViX's supposedly HD PVR promises to be the "ultimate" PVR. We can't help thinking that "basic" would have been a better appellation.

  Corel Home Office

  Despite some compatibility setbacks, Corel Home Office suite is useful for creating documents. Its conscientious size, small-screen optimisations, and attractive price make it a good buy for a Netbook office suite, or for saving space by shedding advanced features.

  Apple iPhone 3GS (32GB)

  The iPhone 3GS is faster and we appreciate the new features and extended battery life, but call quality and 3G reception still need improvement.

  Acer G24 LCD Monitor

  While its gaming performance is stellar, due to its ultra-glossy and reflective screen its viewing angle is unforgiving. It's also not the most ideal monitor for colour accuracy.

  The Samsung UA40B7100 is the most "entertaining" television yet, and further evidence that the way forward for LCD televisions is in LED-backlighting.

  Patapon 2 adds plenty of new ideas to the already unique gameplay, making it a worthy successor to the original.

  Logitech G35 Surround Sound Headset

  If you're looking for a good headset to complement your gaming, the Logitech G35s are excellent — but keep them in stereo mode, and leave the surround sound for speakers.

  Dell Inspiron Mini 1210

  The Mini 1210's upgraded processor and shift to Windows XP does remove some of the original model's biggest issues, but it's still not a netbook that we'd buy.

  Avira AntiVir 9

  AntiVir 9 doesn't appear to have changed much — but that's only because the interface sports the slightest of what's new. One-click infection removal, rolled-in anti-spyware and other strong security enhancements top the feature list.

  Apple iMac 24-inch (2009)

  Apple made a number of changes to the 24-inch iMac, but making it available at this price is the most impressive. The rest of the updates are welcome, and Apple's multitasking capability remains unmatched.
