Remember last year, when Telstra was kind enough to show us its first 4G phone and we sneaked into the settings to reveal that it was the HTC Holiday?

Today, Ausdroid is reporting that the very same HTC handset is arriving on the Next G network sooner rather than later, predicting the phone to be in stores in less than a fortnight. Far more certain is the pricing, with a tipster sending the Ausdroid team a photo of a Telstra advertising standee showing prices starting from AU$79 per month on a Freedom Connect plan.

If the Velocity is the Holiday with a new name, we can expect a 4.5-inch qHD display and a dual-core 1.5GHz processor powering Android Gingerbread (2.3). These are pretty decent specs, but we can't help wondering how the Velocity will stack up after HTC (and everyone else) announces new handsets for 2012 next month at Mobile World Congress. It would be a real shame to sign up for an AU$79 per month contract only to have your new phone superseded in just over a month.

seems a bit premature. the 4g can only really be used in the cities and given the amount of power it sucks out of batteries and on a small screen the minute difference it will make, seems like there isn't much point
