Remember BookCrossing? It's a phenomenon that kicked off a whole craze of exchanging books and objects in public places with strangers.

Photographers are now getting in on the warm and fuzzy act by leaving images in locations across the UK. Passersby can take the photos and give them new homes, or leave them to beautify the area. This Was Found started partly as a response to all the looting that took place during the UK riots.

The project is still in its early days, with passersby encouraged to leave notes or photos on the website showing where they found the photo, or providing an image of the found object in its new home.
