Storing your files
Digital-music storage has come a long way in recent years, and many new laptops include multiple sound cards and hard drives perfectly suited for housing and playing a trove of multimedia files.
If your system is lean on disk space, consider buying more storage space or an external hard drive. If you own a portable MP3 player such as an Apple iPod, Creative Zen, or Toshiba Gigabeat, you can quickly add another 30 or 60GB of space to your total memory.
Find great speakers
Even with quality digital-music files, your speakers can make all the difference between crisp or waterlogged sound. CNET.com.au's experts recommend using compact or portable speakers such as these top five.
