Can anyone stop Sony Ericsson slaughtering the competition in CNET.com.au's Most Popular Phones?

This month, the sleek K700i has taken the crown from its bigger brother, the Sony Ericsson P910i, which dropped back to third. Sneaking in for second position is LG's U8110 -- the predecessor to the U8120, which is the latest handset from third-generation operator, 3.

The final notable result is from Korean manufacturer Samsung, with its E800 slider phone. Although the handset had only been on reviewed one week prior to the end of October, it managed to draw enough attention to thrust it into 8th position.

Read on to see the rankings of the hottest phones for October.

    The latest mobile fone from Nokia, the 6260 has been relased to soon as the software still has heaps bugs in it. For example, yes the fone does have an MP3 player. However, Nokia made the BIG mistake in choosing the Real Player, which without doubt is the WORST media player ever created!

    All the songs (which are in mono, NOT true stereo) sound dreadfull and the volume (even on maximum) is so soft that with loud background noise (such as a busy city road for example) the songs can't be heard, and that's when it dosen't play a couple of songs then crashes!

    The shortcut menu keys only work on the first nine icons, so of course if you want to go to the very bottom of the list you have to scroll which takes an hour to do! Why can't Nokia arrange it so that when you press "Menu, then zero" on the keypad quickly, in the top right hand corner, the word "Menu and the number in tens appears.

    For example if you press menu then zero, three times quickly, "Menu 30" appears so that you can get to the very bottom icons quickly. You can't even press the directional pad up, when the cursor is in the upper left hand corner and go to the bottom, it just sits there!

    Also, you don't know which contacts memory your using as there is NO indication. There should be a little symbol in the upper right hand corner (either a fone or a sim) in the contacts screen.

    Plus, Nokia has taken a leaf out of Micrsoft's restrictive trade book and although the fone does have Bluetooth, it'll only connect with genuine Nokia bluetooth headsets, NO ONE ELSES! So you look like your wearing a hearing ad or a headset so small the the el cheapo plastic clip breaks meaning the you have to buy yet another headset again!

    Get you act together Nokia!!! I hope that you guys read the above and in you nest sofeware upgrade could you please dop the following;

    1) Get rid of Real Player and use the same MP3 player that's in the Nokia 6230.

    2) Allow ANY bluetooth heaset to be use, not just you crappy ones!

    3) Change the menu by again reading the above and by pushing up the user can go directly yo the bottom icons.

    4) Separate the phone and sim card contact memories with icons on the upper right hand corner so the the user can plainly see which one is in use.

    5) Add "Handsfree" in the enhancement menu as not everyone wants the same setting for "Handfree" and "Headset" to be the same!

    If the above was do (yeah right like that'll happen!), then the Nokia 6260 might, JUST might be an OK fone! Nokia, remember two things when your creating mobile fones, which are KISS (Keep It Simple Stupid) and Nike (Just do it!)

    Regards,

    Jannet Hudson.
