I agree with these, especially no 1, "not that smart" as Derek politely states.
Satnavs really are incredibly stupid a lot of the time.
I was leaving Brisbane Airport to go to a far-Northern suburb - a fairly simple route.
The Navigon sat-nav told me to turn left and go over the Gateway Bridge to the Southside of the city. Exactly the same thing happened to a friend who was using Holden's integrated sat-nav. Go figure!

Transferring pre-planned routes from PC to sat-nav seems to be too hard for most of them too.

I am in no hurry to buy one.

I love my TomTom. I've got no sense of navigation and use it all the time and it never lets me down.

I have a Tom Tom which groups schools & churches together. If you have this warning on and there is a church 200m up a sidestreet it goes off.
Enquiries to Tom Tom support - based in the UK - say that is what we need as churches are not just used on the weekend.
They may well be in the UK but not so much here & nowhere near as much as schools - and we don't have 40 kph church zones !!
This was explained but fell on deaf ears.
Mine now enjoys living in the glovebox & will be junked in favour of a brand that understands what we need at Christmas.
Make sure you ask questions regarding what you expect features to deliver before you buy !!
