About The Author

CNET Editor

Former editor of CNET Australia, Pam loves being in the thick of the ever-growing love affair (well addiction, really) that Australians have with their phones, digital cameras, flat screen TVs, and all things tech.

We found a lot to like in September and quite a few cases of good things coming in small packages.

We've been testing lots of e-readers and most of our book-loving team fell in love with the new Sony Touch. That said, if you don't need a touchscreen and aren't fussed about being locked to the Amazon store, the lightweight and much less expensive Kindle 3 is hard to beat.

While we're still getting loads of negative feedback from disappointed readers on the T-Hub and T-Box, Telstra may at last be on a winner with its Ultimate USB modem, which may actually be faster than a fixed-line ADSL broadband connection. (Note to Telstra: it features a solid build quality and it does one thing pretty well.)

There's more good stuff now hitting the market in the run up to Christmas, so click through to have a look at the best of the rest, covering the gamut from sub-AU$50 earphones to AU$10,000 TVs and Lexus convertibles. It's not too soon to start your list for Santa!
