Unfortunately, 2009 is more unstable than 2008's version. For over 8 years, I have been a loyal customer of Trend Micro. I still believe in their suite of server protection applications. However, Internet Security has gone downhill in a big way. We have over 180 laptops that utilize Internet Security...we've been migrating from 2008 to 2009, but it is causing lockups, conflicts and only detects malicious content AFTER it has infected the machine. I am now looking to switch immediately to either ESET's Smart Security or Avira’s Pro Ed. A huge thumbs down Trend!
- Good: Easy to navigate interface
- Bad: Locks up Windows, detection rate very poor

Found numerous trojans and other infections it did not catch. Started blocking me from signing on to MSN Premium. Tech support said it was because of SpyBot and AdAware. Removed them, still blocked. Okay on IE or FireFox, but not MSN. Removed Trend Micro PC_Cillin and was able to sign-in to MSN. Installed McAfee, cleaned machine. Works great. Trend Micro ---- NEVER AGAIN
- Good: None
- Bad: Doesn't protect, blocks internet access on MSN Premium

i know little about computers. the product seems to have kept malware off my machine. but when i needed some help, their customer svc/tech support is like a huge firewall -- absolutely NOTHING gets through. will definitely NOT renew.
- Good: seems to work ok
- Bad: NON EXISTENT CUSTOMER SERVICE

I agree with Mark. It's not worth the time and effort to email them for support! Three times I tried and no answers. The phone support in Australia is good if you get someone you can understand.
- Good: Works fine, will renew. Good phone support when necessary.
- Bad: Email support. USELESS
