HD TV World

Since the first HD TVs began appearing in Australia in 2000, high-definition television has been on the mind of every TV buyer.

The big question is whether now is the time to pay a few hundred to a few thousand dollars more and take the plunge on an HD TV set. We can't answer that question for you, but we can provide some basic information that may help you decide.

HD TV World is divided into three sections: Understanding HD TV, Choosing an HD TV and Optimising your HD experience. These pages will take you all the way through the process of choosing, buying and making the most of, a high-definition television.

We'll also explain some of the HD content that could be gracing your new screen, including digital TV broadcasts and next-generation DVD formats. Then there are the add-ons and extras, like cables, converters and calibration.
