The market for smaller LCD televisions is, if anything, more competitive than in the larger TV space, where Plasma's lower prices have seen it take the market lead. The Sharp Aquos LC15B5M stands out from the crowd due to its integrated PC Card Slot that, like Sony's KLVL32MRX1, allows you to display and record video and picture elements onscreen.
Upside: The LC15B5M is compatible with every major standard used in digital cameras today -- Micro Drives, SD, MMC, CF, xD, Smart Media and Memory Stick, to be exact. That gives it a significant advantage if you're likely to use it as a digital photo frame as well; not only will you be able to display your own pictures, but chances are any visitors will be able to simply plug their media without fuss. It's also eminently luggable, with a built-in carrying handle.
Downside: The LC15B5M display specifications only allow for VGA resolution, which is less than optimal if you're likely to use it as a PC monitor at any time. Depending on where you put it, a 15" screen may be a tad small for extended viewing.
Outlook: While PC Card slots for digital pictures are remarkably common in printers, the Aquos LC15B5M (and its larger sibling, the 20" LC20B5M) merge the concepts of a digital photo frame and LCD Television fairly seamlessly.
