LG Scarlet 42LG60FD User reviews

By Ty Pendlebury on 04/06/2008

More LG reviews , RRP: AU$2499.00

The good:

  • Distinctive design
  • Excellent HD performance
  • Brilliant tuner
  • Four HDMI ports

The bad:

  • Poor off-axis performance
  • Sound is disappointing

The bottomline:

The LG 42LG60FD, or Scarlet as it's otherwise known, is a flashy, style-oriented LCD which thankfully has the performance and features to back it all up.

Awesome TV. Met and even exceeded the expectations I had. I only have the 37 in., but it performs just as well as the larger models.

Pros: `Great picture, smooth motion (the blur of older LCD's is virtually gone)
`Very customizable.
`Looks freakin' sexy too :)
`Lots of inputs

Cons: `I have to agree that the sound is a little dissapointing...but who doesnt have a surround these days?

Picked one up last weekend, its my first proper tv, very impressed so far. I had a hard look around and for the $$ it seemed to be a great buy.

Pros: Great picture quality, easy meanu/setup.

Cons: I would have liked a rear mount AV port, just has 1 on the side.

Stunning to look at and stunning picture with beautiful deep blacks and the peace of mind of a 3yr warranty

Pros: 4 HDMI inputs and great onscreen menus

Cons: No rear composite inputs

Just brought the Scarlett and i think that its a great t.v.

Pros: Good color. good sound

Cons: Stupid, stupid sound when switching on the t.v. (Like switching on a lap top, dumb.) I'm not happy about this. My pioneer plasma don't make any sound's when switching it on.

Picked up this TV at JB for $1900.
Haven't worried about the sound issue as it's plugged into an amp.

Pros: So far so good, only had it a few days.
The picture is good. Menu system is in colour with easy icons. Lots of HDMI connections.

Cons: It's quite a unit (in terms of height) so make sure you have the room for it!
