2007: The best of home theatre

2007: The year that 1080p broke. After years of tentative steps, consumers and manufacturers alike finally got the gist of high definition and what it could do.

But home theatre doesn't begin and end with HD -- the screen and its resolution is only one part of the equation. A home theatre is the sum of its parts, so here we present the best screens, projectors, amps and other components that impressed us this year. (And especially in the case of the Pioneer plasma, it doesn't necessarily have to be 1080p.)

The products below aren't necessarily the highest scoring in their categories, but they represent current models with a good mix of features and performance for the price.
