The good:

  • Prodigious black levels
  • Eye-popping pictures
  • Up-to-date features

The bad:

  • Some minor flyscreen effects
  • Tuner images a little soft
  • You have to pay for one -- they don't give them out for free

The bottomline:

The Pioneer PDP-508XDA is without a doubt one of the best plasma televisions ever released, with excellent black levels and oodles of detail.
