Unboxing the iPod Classic

By Derek Fung on 19 September 2007

So what do you get with the iPod Classic? Not much but it's the minimalism which is an intrinsic part of its appeal.

Whoa Nelly! It's the sixth generation iPod. Sorry, Steve, I mean the new iPod Classic.

iTouches are crap and a waste, their screens break and you can't even use it as a USB storage device because there's no disk mode. Totally useless unless you want wi-fi without flash in your hands all the time or you thing touchscreens are the greatest things ever. The nano-chromatic is basically everything an iTouch is minus the wifi and touchscreen and it's just as fun, eau contrere to what Apple says (iTouch is the funnest iPod ever, blah blah blah, btw funnest isn't a word) The classic is just for those people who want an iPod until they're 100 and have huge music libraries and don't exercise with the iPod (let me tell you, running with a hard-drive iPod is not cool) so if you're one of those people buy a classic. but if you're like everybody else that just wants to carry around a good bit of music, video and pictures and also have a handy USB drive on hand at all times get a 8 or 16 gig nano.

im about to go purchase one of these things today.i chose this over the touch here is why.the touch is 300 dollars for only 8 gb.the classic is 250 for 80 gb.you cant turn on the the ipod touch until you connect it to itunes, either.the ipod touch is fragil. the workers at apple say its durable only to sell the product.now they ipod classic is very durable . with or without a case. also with the touch you can only use wi fi in your home or in a place with a wireless connection. so if you wanna watch you tube just go on your computer, also your better off buying a 8gb ipod nano for 200 dollars. because when you leave your home and/or building with wifi it becomes a nano with a bigger screen. and if you are just getting the touch for music then dont because it would be a waist of money when you could just get a nano .i say that because you dont stare at a screen when you listen to a song.this is my final reason on why the classic is better it has a big copacity for 50 dollars less. any questions contact me at deandrerobbins@aol.com

they're just earphones, who cares! And besides, the don't tend to last that long anyway, so when they do break (and believe me, the will), go buy some black ones, and you'll be oober happy that your ipod matches with its headphones. pathetic, really.

Despite all the advances in ipod styling we are still left with non matching headphone colours which remind me of a white second door on a black car

Uncle Steve STILL puts White earphones in with the Black iPod Classic. What the Hell what is the point of that they don't match which the black ipod.
