Windows Phone 7 official screenshots

Microsoft announced Windows Phone 7 during its press conference at Mobile World Congress 2010 in Barcelona yesterday. The new Windows Phone 7 Series refers to a set of phones that will run on the new operating system, and not various editions of the OS. From here on out, the Windows Mobile name is considered dead.

Carrier partners including Telstra and Vodafone, and on the OEM front, Dell, Garmin-Asus, HTC, HP, LG, Samsung and Sony Ericsson have committed to incorporating Windows Phone 7 Series in their portfolio plans.

Microsoft says Windows Phone 7 Series will bring apps together as features in "hubs" where users can access related content all in one place. Click through the photo gallery for a closer look at what that means.

if Microsoft think I'm going to use Telstra or Vodaphone they have another thing coming. I've avoided an iphone. I was getting excited thinking the giant might make a comeback. Think I'll go Nokia.
