Xbox 360 Games Launch List
By Staff writers, CNET.com.au on 27 February 2006
Games is what the Xbox 360 is all about. And thanks to the
numerous launch delays Australians have had to face, the list of
local games available for the 360's launch on 23 March is fairly
expansive. You'll find everything from intense first person
shooters and fantastic role playing games, to realistic sports
sims and white knuckle racing. Check out the complete list of
launch and near launch titles below. And don't forget to come
back to CNET.com.au's Xbox 360 Launch Centre regularly as we'll
be continually updating the Games blade with new titles, previews
and reviews.
Amped
3
They call it Amped 3, but just about the only thing that Indie
Built's Xbox 360 launch game has in common with the two previous
iterations in this snowboarding series is the snow--and, frankly,
it's a better game for it.
Blazing Angels: Squadrons of World War
II
Blazing Angels: Squadrons of WWII is a combat flight simulator in
which you'll get to fly in some of the Second World War's most
memorable air battles.

Call
of Duty 2
On the Xbox 360, this first-rate WWII first-person shooter is
every bit as intense and hard-hitting as the PC version of the
game.
Condemned
Raw, savage beatings are the order of the day in Condemned:
Criminal Origins, an original first-person action game developed
exclusively for the Xbox 360. You play as an investigator tailing
a serial killer while struggling to keep your own sanity as you
face off against what seems like an army of depraved
sociopaths.
Dead or Alive 4
Tecmo's long-running fighting game series hits the Xbox 360 with
its best installment to date, complete with plenty of complex and
interesting characters, outstandingly good visuals, and great
online play.
Elder Scrolls: Oblivion
The next chapter in the Elder Scrolls role-playing game series
has been in development since 2002.

Full
Auto
The system gets its first car-combat game in Full Auto, a
racing-while-shooting extravaganza from Sega and Pseudo
Interactive.
Gun
Gun sets you loose in the Wild West, where you can shoot your way
through a very brief but entertaining storyline and undertake
some decent side missions while you're at it.
Kameo:
Elements of Power
Plenty of original, funny, visually stunning, and fun-filled
moments await in Kameo: Elements of Power, which is the first
Xbox 360 action adventure game, as well as a standard-setter.
Madden
06
This is a graphically impressive game that's far better than
anything you've seen on the current roster of consoles. Player
models, stadiums, tackles, catches, and throws have never looked
this good before.
NBA
2K6
If you own an HDTV capable of 720p resolution, then NBA 2K6 is
one of the best-looking basketball games you've ever seen.
NBA
Live 06
NBA Live 06 can be considered, in a lot of ways, the first true
next-generation basketball game. The game engine has been rebuilt
from scratch, and the game does indeed make a great first
impression on high-definition screens, with excellent-looking
player models and courts.

Need
for Speed Most Wanted
For the release of the Xbox 360, Electronic Arts is serving up
the latest installment in its long-running racing series, Need
for Speed Most Wanted. Its high-speed races and police chases
make for an extremely exciting game, which is further enhanced by
the game's terrific graphics. This is one of those games that
makes the previous generation of hardware look older than it
actually is.
NHL
2K6
NHL 2K6 features new goalie controls and marginally improved
graphics.
Perfect
Dark Zero
This awesome, high-tech first-person shooter champions the Xbox
360 with its excellent assortment of single- and multiplayer game
types, as well as its incredible good looks and dynamic, intense
action.
Peter Jackson's King Kong The Official
Game of the Movie
Simply stated, Peter Jackson's King Kong: The Official Game of
the Movie, is not just a great use of the license and a wonderful
movie tie-in, but it's a stupendous game to boot.
Prey
Prey is a first-person shooter in which players take on the role
of a character who must fight against multiple alien races.
Project
Gotham Racing 3
With the launch of every new gaming console, certain titles
define the technological capacity of that platform and usher in
the next generation in style. For the Nintendo 64, it was Mario
64; for the original Xbox, it was Halo. We have a new candidate
for that honour: Bizarre Creations' Project Gotham Racing 3, a
gripping and intense racing game that is a welcome addition to
the 360's launch lineup.

Tiger
Woods PGA Tour 06
While Tiger Woods PGA Tour 06 for Xbox 360 is missing many of the
features that round out the game on current-gen platforms and the
PC, what remains is a challenging, enjoyable game of golf that,
in some ways, exceeds the more fleshed-out versions.
The
Outfit
Set in Europe during WWII, The Outfit is a squad-based action
game that pits your team against the Nazi War Machine.
Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Advanced
Warfighter
The fate of the Mexican government--and Western political
stability--is in the hands of the Ghosts in the first Tom Clancy
game to hit the Xbox 360.
Tony Hawk's American Wasteland
Don't let the recent name changes fool you. Tony Hawk's American
Wasteland is the seventh Tony Hawk game developed by Neversoft in
as many years..
Top Spin 2
Top Spin returns for another round of simulation tennis on the
Xbox 360. In Top Spin 2, you can play as a variety of real tennis
champions, including Maria Sharapova, Venus Williams, Andy
Roddick, and Lleyton Hewitt, or your own customised player.
