Still waiting for firmware to make it work properly
Had one since Oct 04. Last firmware update 29/10/04! Yup, nearly a year ago. Still waiting for update so it can play files greater than 2GB (ie about 40 minutes of Standard Def video). Remote is a shocker. Company keeps blaming 3rd parties for delays. So close to being great, but tragically fails to be any real use at all.

Happy with mine.
I dont have a wireless router at home so I just have a crossover cable coming from my room to the living room. Works really well. snet recommended this to me and i'm happy with it. All my divxs and xvids run great on it.

question on the review
Not sure why the reviewer says you can't use ad-hoc mode, as the Z400 setup includes this option. Having said that, I have not as yet been able to get it running this way (I don't have a wireless router).

Poor User interface and ongoing glitches
The Z400 has such a poor UI that navigating lots of MP3's or Photos is almost impossible. So although it has some good features the poor usability of the interface makes it impossible to search for and play media easily

Runs awesome on my system at home
I have two of these units in my house, primarily for music playback. It works very well and is a cheaper solution for multiroom audio as they can run off the same server software. And all wiring to TV or speakers is local to each room rather than dragging wires all over the house from one multi room amp in the lounge.
